CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools has announced how the football season will be delayed at the start of the upcoming school year.

TAPPS, known as the largest private school league, was scheduled to have their season to begin August 3.

However, due to concerns with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the football season will begin August 27.

A local campus that falls into these guidelines here in Nueces Co. is St. John Paul II High School, located at 3036 Saratoga Boulevard.

Leaders with the school association (TAPPS) say student-athletes can participate in strength and conditioning on September 8, followed by two weeks worth of practices leading to the first week of games on September 28.
