PORT ARANSAS, Texas — Port Aransas Mayor Charles Bujan confirmed Port Aransas has two confirmed COVID-19 cases.

In a post on social media, he stated, "We have been notified by County Health Dept that Port Aransas has two confirmed cases of COVID 19."

Mayor Bujan continued: "The Health Department asked that I reiterate the following: wash your hands , especially after touching any frequently used item or surface; Avoid touching your face; sneeze or cough into a tissue,or the inside of your elbow;disinfect frequently used items and surfaces as much as possible."

Bujan also stated the two cases were both travel related.

According to Nueces County Health Officials, the Port Aransas cases brings the total number of COVID-19 cases to 16.
