CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Diocese of Corpus Christi is ending dispensation from mass obligation.
This means that parishioners will not longer be exempt from attending Sunday and Holy Day masses in person.
The Diocese cited a decrease in local COVID-19 cases for ending the dispensation which takes effect by Saturday Oct. 30.
The Diocese of Corpus Christi had suspended masses back in March amid COVID-19 concerns. In May, masses were held again, but parishioners could still choose to not attend.
The church says parishes will continue to follow COVID-19 safety measures.
