CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — Corpus Christi city leaders say more than fifty employees test positive or were exposed to COVID-19.
With the number of workers testing positive, city leaders say those affected will have to work from home for the next two weeks.
The employees work in different departments ranging from the gas department to the Corpus Christi police department.
Other examples of employees isolated due to exposure also include the Public Health Director and city park employees.
City Manager Peter Zanoni stated, "It is vital we maintain City operations. The two-week work from home protocol is one step we can take to reduce and slow the spread of COVID-19. Our number one goal at this time is the safety of our employees and their families."
