CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi Mayor Joe McComb signed a city order to stay at home that mirrors a similar that was signed by County Judge Barbara Canales on Wednesday.
McComb's order is effective immediately and remains in effect for seven days. City Council will consider extending the order at its Tuesday meeting.
The declaration of local state of disaster due to public health emergency gives the Mayor the authority to protect the public by issuing the Stay at Home Order.
The goal of the city order is to provide consistent guidance for the public across local government entities on both a county and city level.
