CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — The Nueces County District Attorney's office is mourning the loss of a victim's advocate who died due to COVID-19.
On their office Facebook page, the Attorney's office shared a photo of Debra Garcia who was a victim's advocate for the Corpus Christi Police Department.
The post stated, "Always with a smile on her face and hope her heart, she was truly a “glass is half full kind of gal!” She touched many lives and she is gone way too soon. She fought bravely and she is now another life lost to COVID 19. We will miss you terribly Debra. In our hearts forever sweet lady!"
In a statement, CCPD added, "Debra dedicated years of service to our community by providing awareness, support, and services to victims of crime. There is no doubt that her selfless efforts to fight for the rights of our most vulnerable resulted in positive and lasting changes in the lives of crime victims."
