CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A local teen decided to bring some joy to the youngsters in his neighborhood, while still practicing social distancing.

17-year-old Jacobe Ellison came up with the idea.

Saturday, he set up different stuffed animals and a few live animals outside participating homes. The kids took pictures of them and sent them to Jacobe to earn points.

He says this was just his way of bringing smiles to the kids faces during this uncertain time.

"We're a big happy community I guess you can say," said Jacobe. "And so this is all bringing someone together while maintaining social distancing of course. But just so everyone can interact and have a bit of fun."

The kids with the most points, best safari outfits, and photos will all be recognized on May 1st.

Over 65 houses took part in Saturday's scavenger hunt.
