CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A local man has died in a Galveston hospital of COVID-19 symptoms, his family confirmed.
Gerald Barragan, 63, died at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Barragan's sister tells KRIS-6 News that he was diagnosed with COVID_19 Sunday or Monday while in Rosharon just south of Houston.
"On behalf of the Barragan family, we would like to thank the community for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support," Barragan's family said in a prepared statement. "We ask for continued prayers and privacy as we honor my dad, Gerald “El Coyote” Barragan. Thank you."
Barragan was a graduate of Moody High School.
