A local Corpus Christi Fire Department Captain will be tested Friday morning during the public Health District drive-through testing after the captain's spouse tested positive Wednesday for COVID-19.
The City of Corpus Christi made the announcement Thursday evening.
Five firefighters who the Captain came in contact with recently are presumed to be of low-risk exposure to COVID-19. The firefighters will be quarantined starting Thursday evening and will be provided an option to be tested by a private lab tomorrow.
The City says their next steps will depend on the Firefighter Captain's test results on Friday but will take necessary action to protect personnel, their families, and the community.
