3/30 updates:

4:41 p.m. - County officials announced no new COVID-19 deaths and 57 new COVID cases for Nueces County on Tuesday.

The county's COVID-19 fatality count remains at 747 for the pandemic. The new cases push the total during the pandemic to 39,596, with 37,861 recovering.

3/29 updates:

The city of Corpus Christi and the Nueces County Health District has eight vaccination clinics planned this week.

3/28 updates:
Nueces County reports 63 new cases of COVID-19 and zero deaths on Sunday. This brings the total confirmed cases in the county to 39,469, with 37,740 recovered.

3/27 updates:
Nueces County reports 74 new cases of COVID-19 and zero deaths on Saturday. This brings the total confirmed cases in the county to 39,406, with 37,684 recovered.

3/26 updates:

Nueces County is reporting one COVID-19 related death. The man was in his 40's and had diabetes. Seventy-nine new cases of COVID-19 were reported on Friday. This brings the total number of cases in the county to 39,322 with 37,625 recovered.

3/25 updates:
The Corpus Christi - Nueces County Public Health District received notification of one COVID-19 related death. The patient was 1 female in her 80’s. The comorbidities of the patient included hypertension. Our condolences go out to their families and friends. Further information is not being released for privacy and confidentiality reasons.

Officials also said there were 62 new cases in Nueces County. The total case count now 39,253.

3/24 updates:

4:30 p.m. - Nueces County reports one new COVID-19 related death on Wednesday, pushing the total of pandemic-wide local coronavirus fatality deaths to 745.

The patient was a female in her 80’s without any comorbidities.

The county also announced 57 new cases, pushing the total cases county to 39,191. Of that total, 37,500 have recovered.

2:06 p.m. - A first-dose vaccination clinic will be held at Waves Resort on Padre Island on Thursday March 25 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

CHRISTUS Spohn will be administering 500 Pfizer vaccines to people 50 and over and those 16 and over with a comorbidity. Registration will be on-site only at 14353 Commodores Drive, Corpus Christi, TX 78418.

3/23 updates:

4:40 p.m.- Nueces County reports two COVID-19 related deaths and 57 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the total case count to 39,094 with 37,445 recovered.

3:22 p.m.- West Oso ISD has announced that all students will transition to in-person learning starting Monday March 29.

This was decided by the district's Board of Trustees on Monday, after receiving word from the TEA on March 11 that funding would be in jeopardy if students did not return to face-to-face instruction.

The school district says that 80 percent of their staff is now vaccinated and they expect a higher percentage as the vaccine becomes more widely available. They will also continue to follow safety protocols to protect all students.

3/22 updates:

4:30 p.m. - Nueces County reported no new deaths on Monday, leaving the total number of COVID-19 fatalities in the county at 742.

The county also reported 47 new COVID-19 cases today, boosting the case count since the start of the pandemic to 39,037.

There have been 37,400 local patients who have recovered from their COVID-19 illnesses.

3/19 updates:

Nueces County reported no new deaths, leaving the total number of COVID-19 fatalities in the county at 741 during the pandemic.

The county also reported 98 new COVID-19 cases, upping the total count during the pandemic to 38,879.

3/18 updates:

4:50 p.m. - Nueces County reported three deaths and 35 new cases Thursday, for a total of 741 deaths and 38,781 total reported cases.

3/17 updates:

4:36 p.m. - Nueces County reported one new death for a total of 738 reported deaths. It also reported 29 new cases for a total of 38,746.

3/16 updates:

5 p.m.- Nueces County reports three deaths and 63 cases of COVID-19. The deaths were one man and two women in their 60's, 80's and 90's, bringing the death total to 737. There are a total of 38,719 reported cases in the county with 37,054 recovered.

2:15 p.m.- Corpus Christi and Driscoll Children's Hospital are hosting a vaccine clinic at the American Bank Center for phases 1A, 1B and 1C, in addition to school employees on Thursday March 18.

One thousand first doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine will be administered from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. You must make an appointment to receive a vaccine. You can make an appointment by calling 1-844-977-1477 Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m or online at www.driscollchildrens.org/covid19vaccine.

11:05 a.m.- If you’re looking to get your first and second dose Pfizer vaccine and pretty quickly, CHRISTUS SPOHN Beeville is hosting clinics today March 16 and Wednesday March 17 beginning at 8:00 am.

Genifer Rucker, President of CHRISTUS SPOHN Beeville says right now is a great time to get your vaccine because there isn’t much of a crowd right now.

There is no appointment necessary and it is a drive through clinic so you don’t need to leave the comfort of your car.

10 a.m. - The Corpus Christi – Nueces County Public Health District will begin taking hotline pre-registrations today for Phase 1A, 1B, and 1C first dose vaccinations scheduled for future vaccine clinics. Eligibility now includes educators, school and childcare workers, and individuals 50 years of age or older.

The hotline number is 361-561-1101 and will open today at 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Once the hotline pre-registration limit is reached, patrons will not be able to register until additional vaccines become available.

To pre-register online, visit www.cctexas.com/vaccineregistration [cctexas.com] and click on the “Vaccination Registration” link. During online pre-registration you must receive a Quick Response (QR) code. Once the online pre-registration limit is reached, you will not be able to register until additional vaccines become available.

Notification of appointment date and time will be messaged to clients by text or landline when a future vaccination clinic has been scheduled.

3/15 updates:

6:49 p.m. - The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District will have first and second-dose vaccination clinics this week.

  • From Tuesday, March 16 to Sunday, March 21, the Corpus Christi–Nueces County Public Health District Strike Teams will administer second dose Pfizer vaccines at Wooldridge Place Nursing Center, Robstown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Retama Manor Nursing Center, and over 2,000 first dose Moderna vaccines to all Adult Day Care Centers within Nueces County.
  • On Wednesday, March 17, the Corpus Christi–Nueces County Public Health District will be administering over 2,000 first dose Moderna vaccines at the American Bank Center on a walk-in basis.

  • “Expanding vaccine access to vulnerable populations in our community is a proactive measure your City Council and I have been working toward achieving. Providing the vaccine to nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, and walk-in clinics helps additional vulnerable people receive protection against the coronavirus,” Mayor Paulette M. Guajardo said.

4:51 p.m. - The Corpus Christi - Nueces County Public Health District received notification of one COVID-19 related death. The patient was 1 male in his 70’s. The comorbidities of the patient included diabetes. Further information is not being released for privacy and confidentiality reasons.

3/14 updates:

5:00 p.m.- Nueces County is reporting zero deaths and 51 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday. This brings the total number of cases in the county to 38,605 with 36,937 recovered.

3/13 updates:

4:30 p.m.- Nueces County reports three deaths and 85 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, bringing the death toll to 733, and the total number of cases in the county to 38,554. From these, 36,860 have recovered.

3/11 updates:

4:37 p.m. - 64 new cases in Nueces County, total is now 38,394. No deaths reported today. The death total remains at 730. 36,666 have recovered.

3/10 updates:

4:36 p.m. - The Nueces County-Corpus Christi Public Health District announced 60 new cases of COVID-19 for a total of 38,330. The district, however, didn't report any deaths, leaving the total of county deaths at 730.

3/ 9 updates:

4:40 p.m. - The Nueces County-Corpus Christi Public Health District announced 50 new cases of COVID-19 reported Tuesday, for a total of 38,270 reported since March 21. The district also reported four new deaths, for a total of 730.

4:18 p.m. - The Corpus Christi - Nueces County Public Health District received notification of four COVID-19 related deaths. The patients were 2 males and 2 female with ages ranging in their 20’s and 60’s. The comorbidities of the patients included diabetes and hypertension. The Corpus Christi – Nueces County Public Health District is opening their hotline and online pre-registration on Tuesday, March 9 at 10 a.m. for COVID-19 first dose vaccines the week of March 15.

Phase 1A ,1B, and educators, school and child care workers are eligible to register. To register, you can call the hotline at 361-561-1101, or go to the city's website.

Notification of appointment date and time will be sent to those who have registered by text or phone call when a vaccination clinic has been scheduled.

3/8 updates:

4:19 p.m. - The Corpus Christi - Nueces County Public Health District reports one COVID-19 related death. The patient was 1 female in her 80’s. Her comorbidities included diabetes and hypertension. This brings the total death count related to COVID-19 to 726.

4:40 p.m.- Nueces County reports two deaths and 105 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday. The deaths were women in their 60's and 70's, bringing the dead count in the county to 725. There are 38,168 total cases now confirmed in the county, with 36,376 recovered.

3/6 updates:

4:30 p.m.- Nueces County reports three deaths and 15 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday. The deaths were two men and one woman in their 40's, 70's and 80's, bringing the death toll in the county to 723. There are now 38,063 reported cases in the county with 36,323 recovered.

3/5 updates:

10:22 a.m - Pre-registration for the first dosage of the vaccine has now begun.

The Corpus Christi – Nueces County Public Health District opened its hotline and online pre-registration today, for first dose vaccinations.

These first dose vaccinations will be given at future drive-thru clinics. Times, locations, and vaccine will be announced soon.

Eligibility will include those in Phases 1A and 1B plus school and childcare workers.

2:08 p.m.- The University Interscholastic League (UIL) announced that they will be releasing updated guidance on mask mandates before Gov. Greg Abbott's Texas mask mandate is lifted on March 10. "Until that information is released, all UIL COVID-19 Risk Mitigation Guidelines remain in place."

3/2 updates:

5:45 p.m.- In response to Gov. Greg Abbott's removing the mask rule, Alice ISD sent out this message to students, parents, and staff.

5:30 p.m.- Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority announced that they will continue to require face coverings for all riders, employees, guests and vendors while on all CCRTA buses and facilities.

4:50 p.m.- In response to Gov. Greg Abbott's removing the mask rule, Flour Bluff ISD sent out this message to students, parents, and staff.

4:35 p.m. - The Nueces County Public Health District reports there were 49 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, March 02, 2021. That number raises the total amount of COVID-19 cases to 37,856 in Nueces County. 36,037 people have recovered from the virus. The total death count in Nueces County stands at 718.

4:30 p.m. - The Corpus Christi - Nueces County Public Health District received notification of one COVID-19 related death. The patient was 1 male in his 80’s. The comorbidities of the patient included cancer.

4:23 p.m.- In response to Gov. Greg Abbott's removing the mask rule, Beeville ISD sent out this message to students, parents, and staff.

4:15 p.m. - In response to Gov. Greg Abbott's removing the mask rule, Robstown ISD sent out this message to students, parents, and staff.

4:00 p.m. - In response to Gov. Greg Abbott's removing the mask rule, CCISD sent out this message to students, parents, and staff.

3:00 p.m. - Texas on Tuesday became the biggest state to lift its mask rule, joining a rapidly growing movement by governors and other leaders across the U.S. to loosen COVID-19 restrictions despite pleas from health officials not to let their guard down yet. The Lone Star State will also do away with limits on the number of diners who can be served indoors, said Republican Gov. Greg Abbott, who made the announcement at a restaurant in Lubbock.

3/1 updates:

5:05 p.m.- The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District has received shipments of first and second dose Moderna vaccines for the area.

Five-thousand first-dose vaccines will be distributed Tuesday March 2 at 9 a.m. at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi. The vaccines will go to those who pre-registered by phone or online on Sunday Feb. 28.

A second dose clinic will take place at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds in Robstown on Friday, March 5 at 9 a.m. The vaccines will be given to those who received their first dose at the fairgrounds on Jan. 29 and Feb. 2. Patients do not need to re-register. The health district will send a magic link to confirm your second dose. If you do not a receive notification of your appointment from the health district by March 3, call the health district at 361-826-7200 and choose option two.

5:00 p.m.- Nueces County is reporting three deaths and 62 new cases of COVID-19. This brings the death toll in the county to 717, and the total case count to 37,807, with 35,987 reportedly recovered.

11:45 a.m. - The Aransas County Independent School District has decided to return their students to face-to-face instruction.

The district has made its decision based on data.

"To date, 88% of ACISD students have returned to face-to-face instruction with less than 2% of the student population having tested positive for COVID-19," says a post from the district.

Students are set to return to campus on March 16 but the district says they can make exceptions.

"If it is necessary for a student to be absent due to COVID reasons, parents must contact their child’s campus so that appropriate decisions may be made regarding safety procedures, attendance and instructions to avoid being counted absent."

2/28 updates:

7:45 p.m.- The link for online pre-registration is still active for eligible Phase 1A and 1B individuals for an upcoming first dose COVID-19 vaccination drive thru clinic. Go to the city of Corpus Christi's website to register.

4:30 p.m.- Nueces County reports zero deaths and 73 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday. This brings the total number of cases in the county to 37,745 with 35,933 reportedly recovered.

2/27 updates:

6:21 p.m.- The Corpus Christi – Nueces County Public Health District will be opening COVID-19 vaccine pre-registration on Sunday Feb. 28 from noon to 2 p.m.

The health district is expecting 5,000 COVID-19 doses to come in the week of March 1, and anyone in the 1A and 1B eligibility group can register online or by calling 361-561-1101

4:30 p.m.- Nueces County is reporting two deaths and 69 new cases of COVID-19. This brings the total death count in the county to 714, and the total case count to 37,672, with 35, 834 recovered.

2/26 updates:

4:57 p.m. - San Patricio County is reporting a total of 3,080 cases since the pandemic began, on Friday. The county has had 132 deaths because of the novel coronavirus.

4:37 p.m. - The Nueces County-Corpus Christi Public Health District is reporting 87 new cases on Friday, pushing the total number of confirmed cases reported since March to 37,603. Of those, 35,732 have recovered. Eighty-one of those patients hare hospitalized and 32 are currently in the ICU. There also were four deaths reported, for a total of 412 confirmed COVID-19-related deaths.

2:12 p.m. - Kingsville and Kleberg County are reporting five new cases on Friday for a total of 1,790 total reported cases. The county also has suffered 81 deaths because of the novel coronavirus.

9:55 a.m. - Jim Wells County is reporting six new cases and one backlogged case on Friday, bringing its total of patients who have or have had COVID-19 in that county to 3,440.

2/26 updates:

4:40 p.m. - The Nueces County-Corpus Christi Public Health District is reporting 77 new cases on Thursday, for a total of 37,516 confirmed cases. Four deaths were also reported, for a total of 408 confirmed COVID-19-related deaths.

2:17 p.m. - Jim Wells County is reporting five new cases and three backlogged cases on Thursday for a total of 3,433 cases since the pandemic began. It has suffered 81 deaths because of the novel coronavirus.

2/24 updates:

6:12 p.m. - Live Oak County is reporting a total of eight confirmed cases under quarantine. It has had 1,106 total reported cases and 19 deaths.

6:06 p.m. - Kingsville and Kleberg County are reporting 18 new cases and three deaths over a nine-day period for a total of 1,785 total reported cases. There have been 80 COVID-19-related deaths in the area.

5:24 p.m. - Nueces County-Corpus Christi Public Health District officials are reporting 92 new cases Wednesday, raising the case of total reported, confirmed cases to 37,439.

4:26 p.m. - One death was reported by Nueces County-Corpus Christi Public Health District officials on Wednesday. The patient, a man, was in his 80s and had underlying medical conditions such as high-blood pressure and diabetes. There have now been 704 deaths in the county.

11 a.m.- Registration is open for the City of Corpus Christi and Driscoll Children’s Hospital COVID-19 Vaccination Site at the American Bank Center on Friday, Feb. 26.

In order to receive a vaccine, you MUST make an appointment. Appointments are for people 65 years and older. Make sure you are available for both vaccination dates on Friday Feb. 26, and Friday March 19 for the second dose.

2/23 updates:

8:41 p.m. - Refugio County is reporting a total of 549 confirmed cases and a total of 17 COVID-19-related deaths.

4:36 p.m. - Nueces County is reporting 36 new cases for a total of 37,347 cases. two deaths also were reported, for a total of 703.

2/22 updates:

4:40 p.m. - Nueces County is reporting 58 new COVID-19 cases. This brings the total COVID-19 cases to 37,311.

4:12 p.m. - The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District received notification of four COVID-19 related deaths. The patients were 2 males and 2 females with ages ranging in their 30’s, 60’s, and 80’s. This increases the COVID-19 death related cases to 701.

2/21 updates:

4:30 p.m.- Nueces County is reporting one death and 44 new cases of COVID-19. This brings the death total to 697, and the case total to 37,253. From these cases, 35,167 have reportedly recovered.

2/20 updates:

4:40 p.m.- Nueces County reports nine deaths and 35 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday. This brings the total number of deaths in the county to 696, and the total reported cases to 37,209. From these cases, 35,098 have recovered.

2/18 updates:

4:30 p.m. - Nueces County is reporting 50 new COVID-19 cases Thursday.

4:15 p.m. - The Corpus Christi - Nueces County Public Health District received notification of three COVID-19 related deaths. The patients were 2 males and 1 female with ages ranging in their 60’s and 80s. The comorbidities of the patients included diabetes and hypertension.

2/17 updates:

5:00 p.m. - Nueces County is reporting 74 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday.

4:11 p.m. - The Corpus Christi - Nueces County Public Health District received notification of one COVID-19 related death Wednesday. The patient was a male in his 80’s. The comorbidities of the patient included heart disease.

2/16 updates:

4:51 p.m. - Nueces County is reporting 24 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday. This increases the total to 37,000 reported cases.

4:15 p.m. - The Corpus Christi - Nueces County Public Health District says they received notification of one COVID-19 related death Tuesday. The patient was a female in her 60’s. The comorbidities of the patient included diabetes, chronic kidney disease, GERD and hypothyroidism.

2/15 updates:

7:25 p.m. - Nueces County is reporting 36 new cases on Monday for a total of 36,936 reported cases.

5:04 p.m. - The earliest the Nueces County-Corpus Christi Public Health District can receive its shipment of first-dose vaccines is Wednesday because of the winter storm. Updates on vaccination clinics, which, as of now, could be held this weekend, however these registrations slots have already been assigned.

3:59 p.m. - Nueces County announced one new death Monday, bringing the reported number of confirmed deaths to 682.

2/14 updates:

4:32 p.m. - Nueces County announced 82 new cases and zero deaths Sunday, bringing the reported number of confirmed cases to 36,940 since March.

2/13 updates:

4:30 p.m.- Nueces County reports one death and 100 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, for a total of 681 reported deaths. This brings the total number of cases in the county to 36,858, with 33,926 reportedly recovered.

2/12 updates:

4:37 p.m. - Nueces County is reporting 66 new cases Friday, for a total of 36,758 confirmed cases reported since March.

4:11 p.m. - The Corpus Christi - Nueces County Public Health District received notification of two COVID-19 related deaths Friday, for a total of 680 deaths. The patients were both men in their 60’s. The comorbidities of the patients included heart disease and hypertension.

2:46 p.m. -

"Kleberg County Judge Rudy Madrid and the City of Kingsville Mayor Sam Fugate received confirmation from the Texas Department of State Health Services, Region 11 of seven additional COVID-19 cases and five probable cases.

All of the newly reported cases are considered active and being monitored by Region 11. The newly confirmed novel coronavirus cases bring our cumulative count in Kleberg County to 1,759. Our probable cumulative count is 610.

To date, there have been 76 COVID-19-related deaths in Kleberg County. Texas DSHS is reporting no individuals removed from isolation today, our confirmed active COVID-19 case count increases to 263. Region 11 is no longer reporting transmission type, but they are reporting pervasive community spread of COVID-19 in our region.

All individuals confirmed with active cases are in isolation and will continue to be monitored by Region 11."

2/11 updates:

6 p.m. - Kleberg County Judge Rudy Madrid and the City of Kingsville Mayor Sam Fugate received confirmation from the Texas Department of State Health Services, Region 11 of two additional COVID-19 cases and two probable cases. Texas Department of State Health Services, Region 11 has also confirmed one COVID-19 related death. The newly confirmed novel coronavirus cases bring our cumulative count in Kleberg County to 1,752.

To date, there have been 76 COVID-19-related deaths in Kleberg County.

5:15 p.m. - Nueces County is reporting 146 new cases making 36,692 total. So far, 33,657 have recovered since the beginning of the pandemic.

4:18 p.m. - Nueces County is reporting four new deaths on Thursday, for a confirmed total of 678 deaths. The patients were three men and one woman, ranging in age from 50-70, and had underlying medical conditions such as high-blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease.

2:45 p.m. - Almost 1,000 vaccinations were administered today at the American Bank Center.

Thanks to the City of Corpus Christi, Driscoll Children's Hospital, and the American Bank Center, 917 people ages 65 and older were able to receive vaccinations.

Driscoll Children's Hospital will post on their website when more vaccines become available.

2/10 updates:

4:45 p.m. - Nueces County is reporting 106 new cases making 36,546 total. So far, 33,467 have recovered since the beginning of the pandemic.

4:12 p.m. - Nueces County is reporting two deaths on Wednesday, patients in their '60s and '80s. The patients had underlying conditions such as diabetes, high-blood pressure, and heart disease.

10:47 a.m. - Kleberg County Judge Rudy Madrid and the City of Kingsville Mayor Sam Fugate report seven additional COVID-19 cases, ten probable cases, and one COVID-19 related death Wednesday.

All newly reported cases are considered active. 32 individuals were removed from the active count making the total active count 271.

Two individuals confirmed positive in December will be removed from the case count after the county determined they weren't Kleberg County residents.

4:39 p.m. - The Nueces County - city of Corpus Christi Public Health District also is reporting 86 new cases Tuesday, for a total of 36,440 confirmed cases since March.

4:08 p.m.- Nueces County reports one new death, bringing the total number of COVID-19-related deaths to 672.

10:42 a.m. - Jim Wells County reports 18 new cases were reported for Monday, bringing its total of reported confirmed cases to 3,341.

2/8 updates:

4:45 p.m.- Nueces County reports 151 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total case count to 36,354 . From these, 33,134 have recovered.

4:15 p.m. - The Corpus Christi - Nueces County Public Health District reports one COVID-19 related death Monday. The patient was a male in his 70’s. The comorbidities of the patient included hyperlipidemia and hypertension.

4:10 p.m. - Nueces County reports the city computer system didn't crash during Monday’s online vaccine first dose pre-registration. Officials report Monday's online first dose clinic pre-registration for 1,000 individuals was completed within ten minutes of the site going live. Due to an overwhelming response by individuals wanting to register for the vaccine, individuals trying to register after the slots had been filled received a message stating, “Server unavailable. Please try again.” Individuals in the process of filling out an application were timed-out of the system once 1,000 individuals were registered.

11:14 a.m. - Kingsville and Kleberg County reported 36 new cases today and two deaths. Their reported, confirmed case count is now 1,736, and 73 people have died COVID-19-related deaths. To register for a vaccination event, residents can call (361) 595-8577.

10:35 a.m. - Online pre-registration has closed for 1,000 individuals to receive a first dose Phase 1A & 1B vaccination at a clinic scheduled for Tuesday, February 9, beginning at 8 a.m. at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds, 1213 Terry Shamsie Boulevard, Robstown.
