6:29 p.m. - "It has come to our attention that a technical issue with the online registration for the vaccination mini-clinic at the American Bank Center on Tuesday, February 2, has pre-registered more than the available 250 slots for eligible Phase 1A and 1B recipients," tweeted the city of Corpus Christi.

4:58 p.m. - Nueces County confirms 1 new death and 291 new cases. This raises the total case count to 35,398.

The county also reports 31,984 recoveries.

10 a.m. - Kleberg County Judge Rudy Madrid and the City of Kingsville Mayor Sam Fugate confirm 31 additional COVID-19 cases and 38 probable cases.

They also confirmed seven additional COVID-19 related deaths raising the total to 71.

Kleberg county's total case count is now 1,679 and 548 possible cases.

Texas Department of State Health reports 60 individuals removed from isolation today. The county's confirmed active COVID-19 case count increases to 297.

1/31 updates:

According to a social media post from Mayor Paulette Guajardo, the city of Corpus Christi is creating a hotline for the city's 'Saving our Seniors' program. The hotline will be aimed at helping out seniors, elderly, and homebound, allowing them to place their names on a list for service. Mayor Guajardo says the hotline will be available within the next couple of days.

Brooks County confirms 10 new cases and 4 new probable cases of COVID-19.

4:30 p.m.- Nueces County reports two deaths and 110 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday afternoon. The deaths were one man and one woman in their 60's and 70's. This brings the total number of deaths to 655, and total number of cases to 35,107.

10:00 a.m. - "Jim Wells County Judge Juan Rodriguez and the Office of Emergency Management continue to monitor the information, on a daily basis, that is being shared by state and federal officials regarding COVID-19," says a release from the county. "On January 31, 2021, Jim Wells County received confirmation of twenty-five (25) additional cases of Covid-19 and zero (0) backlog case for January 30, 2021."

Jim Wells County has a total of 3,230 cases of COVID-19 with 473 probable cases.

1/ 30 updates:

4:30 p.m.- Nueces County is reporting no deaths and 48 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday afternoon. This brings the total case count to 34,997 with 31,616 reported recoveries.

1/29 updates:

4:46 p.m. - San Patricio County is reporting 3,751 total cases. Aransas County is reporting 709 total cases.

4:54 p.m. - Live Oak County is reporting 1,045 total cases of COVID-19.

4:51 p.m. - Nueces County is reporting 191 new cases on Friday, for a total of 34,949 total confirmed cases since March. Of those, 31,485 people have recovered. Local hospitals are currently treating 166 patients, with 46 of those in the ICU.

4:06 p.m. - Nueces County is reporting five deaths Friday. The patients were three men and two women, who ranged in ages from 40-90. Their underlying conditions included diabetes and high blood pressure.

9:31 a.m. - Jim Wells County Judge Juan Rodriguez and the Office of Emergency Management report that Jim Wells County received confirmation of 12 additional cases of COVID-19 Friday.

Jim Wells County reports a total of 3,184 cases of COVID-19 with 467 prbable cases, since the beginning of the pandemic.

DSHS Dashboard, which was last updated Thursday, shows 3,172 Recoveries, 472 Active, and 74 Fatalities total.

1/28 updates:

11:11 p.m. - Brooks County reports five additional cases of COVID-19 and one probable cases Thursday.

The county also reports that the overall probable case count has gone down.

The county has had 31 coronavirus related deaths and 712 coronavirus cases since the beginning of the pandemic.

4:47 p.m. - Nueces County is reporting 204 new cases, for a total of 34,758 total reported cases.

4:21 p.m. - Kingsville and Kleberg County are reporting 19 new COVID-19 cases Thursda, bringing the area's total to 1,648 reported cases.

4:15 p.m. - The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District received notification of six COVID-19 related deaths. The patients were 3 males and 3 females with ages ranging in their 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80s. The comorbidities of the patients included diabetes, heart disease and hypertension.

9:40 a.m. - Jim Wells County is reporting 37 new cases over several days, for a total of 3,172 reported cases.

1/27 updates:

4:36 p.m. - The Corpus Christi – Nueces County Public Health District is reporting 209 new COVID-19 cases.

4:11 p.m. - The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District received notification of eight COVID-19 related deaths today. The patients were 4 males and 4 females with ages ranging in their 50’s, 60’s, 80’s and 90’s. The comorbidities of the patients included diabetes, heart disease and hypertension.

1/26 updates:

7 p.m. - The Corpus Christi – Nueces County Public Health District reports they have successfully administered 5,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine in just over nine hours at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds in Robstown, Texas.

6:45 p.m. - Due to the Corpus Christi City Council meeting running past its schedule, the public health district COVID-19 briefing will be held Wednesday, according to city officials.

4:54 p.m. - Nueces County is reporting 130 new cases, for a running total of 34,345 cases since March.

4:23 p.m. - Refugio County is reporting 508 confirmed cases, a 19-case increase from last week. Seventeen people in the county have died of COVID-19-related complications.

4:16 p.m. - Nueces County is reporting two deaths on Tuesday. Both patients were men, whose ages ranged in their 70s and 80s, and they reportedly had underlying conditions that include high blood pressure (hypertension), angina and high cholesterol (dyslipidemia).

3:19 p.m. - Kingsville and Kleberg County are reporting 15 confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, for a total of 1,629 reported cases.

9:35 a.m. - Jim Wells County is reporting 38 new cases of COVID-19, for a running total of 3,135 infections.

1/25 updates:

5:01 p.m. - Nueces County is reporting 147 new cases on COVID-19 on Monday and one new death. This brings the total of new cases to 34,215, and total deaths to 632.

3:31 p.m. - Aransas County is reporting a total of 695 cases, and San Patricio County has a total of 3,658.

9:38 a.m. - Kingsville and Kleberg County reported 49 new cases, for a total of 1,614 cases. The county also has seen 64 deaths related to the novel coronavirus.

1/24 updates:

4 p.m.- Nueces County is reporting one death and 171 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday afternoon. The death was a woman in her 50's, bringing the death toll in the county to 631, and the total case count to 34,068. From these, 30,325 are reported recoveries.

1/23 updates:

4:15 p.m.- Nueces County is reporting five deaths and 89 new cases of COVID-19. The deaths were three men and two women in their 60’s and 70’s. Their comorbidities included diabetes, heart disease and hypertension. This brings the total number of deaths in the county to 630, and total cases to 33,897. From these, 30,188 have recovered.

1/22 update:

4:15 p.m. - The Corpus Christi - Nueces County Public Health District received notification of three COVID-19 related deaths. The patients were 3 females with ages ranging in their 50’s and 60’s. The comorbidities of the patients included diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension.

1/21 updates:

4:45 p.m. - The Corpus Christi – Nueces County Public Health District reports there are 237 new COVID-19 cases Thursday afternoon. 176 people are currently hospitalized. 52 of those in the hospital are in a ICU unit. 29,877 people have recovered from the virus.

4:05 p.m. - The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District received notification of six COVID-19 related deaths. The patients were 4 males and 2 females with ages ranging in their 50’s, 70s, 80’s, and 90's. The comorbidities of the patients included asthma, hyperlipidemia, and hypertension.

3:45 p.m. - The Harbor Bridge will shine bright in honor of those touched by COVID-19 tonight, January 21. From the Empire State Building to the Lincoln Memorial, the City joins the nation as we pause to reflect on and memorialize those we have lost. The iconic bridge will be lit in amber to grieve the victims and families and pray for healing. To date, more than 33,000 Texans have died from COVID-19 and over 600 Nueces County residents.

1:00 p.m. - Jim Hogg County has issued an unofficial order to stop social gatherings due to a high active case count.

"We have been at over 100 ACTIVE COVID-19 CASES in our community for over 2 weeks. We will all need to STOP having Social Gatherings for at least 3 weeks and evaluate the cases then and make a determination going forward. We need everyone’s help. This is not “reporting” our neighbors and friends, but rather taking care of each other during this critical time. All elected officials have been made aware that their assistance is needed. Social Gatherings in excess of 10 people will be monitored and citations will be issued. A high number of positive cases have resulted from social gatherings. Thank you for your cooperation. Stay safe."

1/20 updates:

4:58 p.m. - Nueces County is reporting 210 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, bringing its total of reported cases to 33,399 since March.

4:15 p.m. - The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District received notification of two COVID-19 related deaths today and three additional deaths reported from December 2020. The patients were four men and one woman, with ages ranging in their 40s, 50s, 70s and 90s. The comorbidities of the patients included cancer, diabetes, and hypertension.

4:10 p.m. - The Corpus Christi–Nueces County Public Health District has been informed by the state it will not be receiving the 5,000 doses of Moderna vaccine this week as initially scheduled. Therefore, NO mega vaccination drive thru clinic will be held Thursday, Jan. 21, at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds in Robstown. Tomorrow the Health District is expected to receive information from the state on the Health District’s vaccine allocation for next week.

3:14 p.m. - Kleberg County and the city of Kingsville are reporting 13 new cases for that county, for a total of 1,560 cases. It also reported that it has suffered 63 deaths as a result of the novel coronavirus.

10:15 a.m. - Jim Wells County is reporting 39 new cases on Wednesday, for a total of 3,042 reported cases in that county. It also has had 70 COVID-19-related deaths.

1/19 updates:

5:30 p.m. - The COVID-19 vaccination distribution that was supposed to take place Wednesday, Jan. 20 at the Bee County EXPO Center is postponed. The Office of Emergency Management was informed the vaccine for the EXPO Center distribution has not been delivered yet. Officials say the distribution will now take place on Friday, January 22.
If you show up and have not registered you will be turned away.

4:45 p.m. - Nueces County is reporting 166 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday afternoon.

4:10 p.m. - The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District received notification of three COVID-19 related deaths Tuesday. The patients were 1 male and 2 females with ages ranging in their 50’s and 60’s. The comorbidities of the patients included hypertension, hyperlipidemia, hypothyroidism and diabetes.

3:42 p.m. - Aransas County reports they now have 666 COVID-19 cases.

2:25 p.m. - Brooks County reports 3 additional COVID-19 cases. Their total is now at 679 cases. So far, there have been 29 deaths, 95 active cases, and 555 have recovered.

2:12 p.m. - Live Oak County now has a total of 953 COVID-19 cases. Out of these cases 287 of them are FCI inmates and the remaining 666 are citizens.

These numbers break down as follows:

  • FCI Inmates -287 total. All of these are confirmed cases and have recovered.
  • Citizens - 666 total. 32 confirmed cases in active quarantine and 13 probable in quarantine.
  • 125 confirmed cases active and recovering and 60 probable and recovering. This makes 157 confirmed cases active and 73 probable cases.
  • There are 420 recovered citizens (290 confirmed and 130 probable) 16 deaths.

1/18 updates:

4:55 p.m.- According to Corpus Christi's City Manager Peter Zanoni, the COVID-19 vaccine distribution scheduled for Tuesday at the Richard Borchard Fairgrounds in Robstown has been canceled. Vaccines did not arrive on Monday. The city manager said if vaccines come in on Tuesday, a distribution will be set on Wednesday; Thursday if there is inclement weather.

4:30 p.m. - Nueces County reports 173 new COVID-19 cases. 193 people are currently in the hospital. 54 of those people are in ICU.

1/17 updates:

4:30 p.m.- Nueces County is reporting three deaths and 164 new cases of COVID-19 Sunday afternoon. The deaths were two men and one woman in their 60’s, 70's and 80's. Their health conditions included diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension. This brings the death toll in the county to 608, and the total case count to 32,850, with 29,077 recovered.

1:45 p.m.- Jim Wells County is reporting 46 cases of COVID-19, bringing the total in the county to 2,996. There are currently 573 reported active cases, 70 deaths, and 2,701 recoveries in the county.

1/16 updates:

4:30 p.m.- Nueces County is reporting four deaths and 134 new cases of COVID-19. The deaths included one man and three women in their 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s. This brings the dead count in the county to 605, and the total case count to 32,686. From these, 28,943 have recovered.

1/15 updates:

San Patricio County reported 302 new cases and 8 deaths between January 1 - 15. As of Jan.15, there are 263 active cases in the county.

4:50 p.m. - Nueces County is reporting 188 new cases.

4:45 p.m. - The Corpus Christi - Nueces County Public Health District received notification of one COVID-19 related death. The patient was a male in his 90's. The comorbidities of the patients included heart disease, diabetes, and hypertension.

4:00 p.m. - Nueces County Public Health District successfully completed its mega vaccination drive thru clinic today giving out 2,500 inoculations.There will be another mega vaccine drive thru clinic tomorrow, Saturday, January 16 at 8:00 a.m. at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds, 1213 Terry Shamsie Boulevard, Robstown, Texas.

1/14 updates:

4:40 p.m. - Nueces County is reporting 310 new cases.

4:15 p.m. - The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District received notification of five COVID-19 related deaths. The patients were 3 males and 2 females with ages ranging in their 70’s, and 80’s. The comorbidities of the patients included diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension.

11 a.m. - Kleberg County and the City of Kingsville are reporting eight new cases for a total of 1,515 reported cases. If you need to be tested in this area, call (361) 595-8585.

1/13 updates:

4:35 p.m. - Nueces County is reporting five new deaths, for a total of 595 COVID-19-related deaths in the county. It also reported 259 new cases for a total of 32,054 reported cases since March.

2:10 p.m. - Kleberg County and Kingsville are reporting 34 new cases, for a total of 1,507 cases. These numbers include four days worth of data. They also reported two new deaths, to increase the COVID-19-related death toll to 63.

1/12 updates:

5:01 p.m. - Aransas County is reporting eight new cases Tuesday for a total of 615 cases. San Patricio continues to report 3,248 total cases.

4:55 p.m. - The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District reports 182 new COVID-19 cases. The total for Nueces County is now at 31,795. So far, 28,100 people have recovered.

4:05 p.m. - The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District received notification of four COVID-19 related deaths. The patients were one man and three women with ages ranging in their 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. The comorbidities of the patients included diabetes, obesity and hypertension.

1:27 p.m. - Jim Wells County is reporting 38 new cases, for a total of 2,840 reported cases.

1/11 updates:

5:15 p.m. - Nueces County is reporting 342 new cases on Monday, for a total of 31,613 since March.

5:02 p.m. - The Nueces County-Corpus Christi Public Health District is reporting that the expected DSHS vaccines have arrived at the Richard Borchard Fairgrounds and are being thawed. The drive-thru vaccination event will begin once that process is complete.

4:40 p.m. - Aransas County is reporting a total of 607 cases, an increase of 38 cases since last Monday. San Patricio is up to 3,248 total cases, an increase of 176 cases since last Monday.

4:38 p.m. - Brooks County reported two new cases on Sunday for a total of 652 reported cases.

4:06 p.m. - Nueces County Public Health District reports one COVID-19 related death Monday. The patient was a male in his 60’s with comorbidities including diabetes and hypertension.

3:55 p.m. - West Oso ISD has announced that they are suspending in-person learning at their high school and switching to online learning until further notice.

"On Monday, January 11, 2021, our offices were informed that West Oso High School had a positive case of COVID-19. Based on recent updates regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the safety and health of our students and staff, West Oso ISD has made the decision to transition West Oso High School to remote learning beginning Tuesday, January 12, 2021 and until further notice. Parents will be notified this afternoon via campus Robo-call and social media about school closure for the West Oso High School campus. A press release will also be provided to local news stations regarding this notification. West Oso ISD’s number one priority is the safety of our students, staff, and families. We are committed to following the guidelines required by the CDC, local and state officials. The West Oso High School campus will be cleaned and sanitized immediately. We will continue to monitor and follow all health and safety COVID-19 protocols. We encourage all staff to follow these protocols and monitor themselves and their students closely for any sign of potential illness related to COVID-19. Thank you for your continued support as we work diligently to provide a safe school for our staff and students."

"We loaned them vaccines," Chief Medical Officer at the Amistad Community Health Center Dr. Jacqueline Phillips said. "I think we're all healthcare partners. We're all trying to get everybody vaccinated as quickly as possible. I think at that time, the Nueces County office and the Nueces County Health District reached out to us for help and, you know, just like any good partner would do, we helped them to the best that we're able to."

1/10 updates:

4:00 p.m.- Nueces County is reporting five deaths and 149 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday afternoon. The deaths included two men and three women in their 60’s, and their comorbidities included diabetes, cancer, and hypertension. This brings the total number of deaths to 585, and the total number of cases in the county to 31,271. From these, 27,847 have recovered.

4:00 p.m.- Nueces County confirms theirfirst case of the UK COVID-19 variant in a Corpus Christi resident.

10:35 a.m.- Jim Wells County reports 19 new cases of COVID-19, bringing their total in the county to 2,802. According to the DSHS Dashboard, there are 559 active cases, 2,507 recoveries and 66 deaths.

1/9 updates:

10:07 p.m.- Brooks County reports three confirmed and 5 probable cases of COVID-19, bringing the total cases in the county to 648.

4:30 p.m.- Nueces County reports three deaths and 137 new cases of COVID-19 Saturday afternoon. The deaths were two men and one woman in their 60’s, 70s and 80s. This brings the total number of deaths up to 580, with the total case count in the county to 31,122. From these, 27,723 have recovered.

1/8 updates:

5:15 P.M. - Health officials said there were 164 new COVID-19 cases in Nueces County. The total is now 30,985 COVID-19 cases in Nueces County. 27,569 have recovered.

4:15 p.m. - The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District received notification of six COVID-19 related deaths. The patients were 6 males ages ranging in their 40’s, 50’s, 80’s and 90s. The comorbidities of the patients included diabetes, and hypertension. So far, 577 people have died from COVID-19 in Nueces County.

1/7 updates:

7:48 p.m. - The Corpus Christi – Nueces County Public Health District has been notified it will receive 4,000 Moderna vaccines on Monday, January 11. The large allocation of COVID-19 vaccines will be administered through a mega drive thru. 4:55 p.m. - Nueces County is reporting a total of 167 new cases Thursday afternoon.

4:15 p.m. - Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District received notification of seven COVID-19 related deaths. The patients were 6 females and 1 male with ages ranging in their 60’s, 70s and 80s. The comorbidities of the patients included asthma, dyslipidemia, diabetes, and hypertension.

1/6 updates:

5:10 p.m. - Health officials report there are 264 new COVID-19 cases in Nueces County. That brings our number up to 30,654 COVID-19 cases in total. So far, 27,272 have recovered.

4:05 p.m. - The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District received notification of three COVID-19 related deaths. The patients were 2 males and 1 female with ages ranging in their 80s and 90s. The comorbidities of the patients included hyperlipidemia, diabetes, and hypertension.

1/5 updates:

4:55 p.m. - City-County health officials said there were 201 new COVID-19 cases in Nueces County. That would raise the total now 30,390. So far, 27,212 people have recovered.

4:10 p.m. - The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District reports four COVID-19 related deaths. The patients were three men and one female with ages ranging in their 20’s, 30’s, 60’s, and 70’s. The comorbidities of the patients included coronary artery disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

10:20 a.m.- Jim Wells County reports 60 additional COVID-19 cases for Jan. 4, along with two backlogged cases. This brings the total in the county to 2,683 cases. There are currently 399 reported active cases, 65 deaths, and 2,427 recoveries.

1/4 updates:

4:49 p.m. - Nueces County is reporting a total of 188 new cases Monday for a total of 30,189.

4:48 p.m. - Duval County is reporting 828 total cases, an increase of 106 cases since Dec. 19. Jim Hogg County is reporting 331 total cases, an increase of 80 cases since Dec. 14.

4:40 p.m. - San Patricio County is reporting a total of 3,072 cases, an increase of 217 cases since Dec. 21, and Aransas County is reporting 569 cases, an increase of 54 cases since Dec. 21.

4:38 p.m. - Kingsville and Kleberg County are reporting six new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the last two days, for a total of 1,422 cases. Officials report a total of 60 total deaths.

4:07 p.m. - Three COVID-19-related deaths were reported by Nueces County officials Monday. The patients were two women and a man, reportedly in their 60s and 70s. Underlying medical conditions included hypertension and diabetes. The death toll is now 557.

1:51 p.m. - Jim Wells County is reporting 36 additional cases of COVID-19 for a total of 2,621 cases. Brooks County reports one additional COVID-19 case for a total of 606. Brooks also had 27 deaths.

1/3 updates:

4 p.m.- Nueces County reports 4 deaths and 137 new cases of COVID-19 Sunday afternoon. This brings the total number of deaths in the county to 154. The patients were three women and one man in their 60’s and 70’s. with comorbidities that included hyperlipidemia, diabetes, and hypertension. There are now 30,001 total COVID-19 cases in the county. From these cases, 26,931 have recovered.

1/2/20 updates:

4:30 p.m. - Nueces County reported two deaths and 163 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday afternoon. The deaths included one man and one woman in their 60's and 70's with health conditions that included hyperlipidemia, diabetes, coronary artery disease, and hypertension. This brings the death toll in the county to 550, and the number of total cases to 29,864. From these, 26,830 have reportedly recovered.
