Kleberg county's total case count is now 1,679 and 548 possible cases.
Texas Department of State Health reports 60 individuals removed from isolation today. The county's confirmed active COVID-19 case count increases to 297.

According to a social media post from Mayor Paulette Guajardo, the city of Corpus Christi is creating a hotline for the city's 'Saving our Seniors' program. The hotline will be aimed at helping out seniors, elderly, and homebound, allowing them to place their names on a list for service. Mayor Guajardo says the hotline will be available within the next couple of days.
Brooks County confirms 10 new cases and 4 new probable cases of COVID-19.
4:30 p.m.- Nueces County reports two deaths and 110 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday afternoon. The deaths were one man and one woman in their 60's and 70's. This brings the total number of deaths to 655, and total number of cases to 35,107.
10:00 a.m. - "Jim Wells County Judge Juan Rodriguez and the Office of Emergency Management continue to monitor the information, on a daily basis, that is being shared by state and federal officials regarding COVID-19," says a release from the county. "On January 31, 2021, Jim Wells County received confirmation of twenty-five (25) additional cases of Covid-19 and zero (0) backlog case for January 30, 2021."
Jim Wells County has a total of 3,230 cases of COVID-19 with 473 probable cases.

4:46 p.m. - San Patricio County is reporting 3,751 total cases. Aransas County is reporting 709 total cases.
4:54 p.m. - Live Oak County is reporting 1,045 total cases of COVID-19.
4:51 p.m. - Nueces County is reporting 191 new cases on Friday, for a total of 34,949 total confirmed cases since March. Of those, 31,485 people have recovered. Local hospitals are currently treating 166 patients, with 46 of those in the ICU.
4:06 p.m. - Nueces County is reporting five deaths Friday. The patients were three men and two women, who ranged in ages from 40-90. Their underlying conditions included diabetes and high blood pressure.
9:31 a.m. - Jim Wells County Judge Juan Rodriguez and the Office of Emergency Management report that Jim Wells County received confirmation of 12 additional cases of COVID-19 Friday.

The county also reports that the overall probable case count has gone down.

7 p.m. - The Corpus Christi – Nueces County Public Health District reports they have successfully administered 5,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine in just over nine hours at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds in Robstown, Texas.
6:45 p.m. - Due to the Corpus Christi City Council meeting running past its schedule, the public health district COVID-19 briefing will be held Wednesday, according to city officials.
4:54 p.m. - Nueces County is reporting 130 new cases, for a running total of 34,345 cases since March.
4:23 p.m. - Refugio County is reporting 508 confirmed cases, a 19-case increase from last week. Seventeen people in the county have died of COVID-19-related complications.
4:16 p.m. - Nueces County is reporting two deaths on Tuesday. Both patients were men, whose ages ranged in their 70s and 80s, and they reportedly had underlying conditions that include high blood pressure (hypertension), angina and high cholesterol (dyslipidemia).

4:45 p.m. - The Corpus Christi – Nueces County Public Health District reports there are 237 new COVID-19 cases Thursday afternoon. 176 people are currently hospitalized. 52 of those in the hospital are in a ICU unit. 29,877 people have recovered from the virus.
4:05 p.m. - The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District received notification of six COVID-19 related deaths. The patients were 4 males and 2 females with ages ranging in their 50’s, 70s, 80’s, and 90's. The comorbidities of the patients included asthma, hyperlipidemia, and hypertension.
3:45 p.m. - The Harbor Bridge will shine bright in honor of those touched by COVID-19 tonight, January 21. From the Empire State Building to the Lincoln Memorial, the City joins the nation as we pause to reflect on and memorialize those we have lost. The iconic bridge will be lit in amber to grieve the victims and families and pray for healing. To date, more than 33,000 Texans have died from COVID-19 and over 600 Nueces County residents.
1:00 p.m. - Jim Hogg County has issued an unofficial order to stop social gatherings due to a high active case count.
"We have been at over 100 ACTIVE COVID-19 CASES in our community for over 2 weeks. We will all need to STOP having Social Gatherings for at least 3 weeks and evaluate the cases then and make a determination going forward. We need everyone’s help. This is not “reporting” our neighbors and friends, but rather taking care of each other during this critical time. All elected officials have been made aware that their assistance is needed. Social Gatherings in excess of 10 people will be monitored and citations will be issued. A high number of positive cases have resulted from social gatherings. Thank you for your cooperation. Stay safe."

4:58 p.m. - Nueces County is reporting 210 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, bringing its total of reported cases to 33,399 since March.
4:15 p.m. - The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District received notification of two COVID-19 related deaths today and three additional deaths reported from December 2020. The patients were four men and one woman, with ages ranging in their 40s, 50s, 70s and 90s. The comorbidities of the patients included cancer, diabetes, and hypertension.
4:10 p.m. - The Corpus Christi–Nueces County Public Health District has been informed by the state it will not be receiving the 5,000 doses of Moderna vaccine this week as initially scheduled. Therefore, NO mega vaccination drive thru clinic will be held Thursday, Jan. 21, at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds in Robstown. Tomorrow the Health District is expected to receive information from the state on the Health District’s vaccine allocation for next week.
3:14 p.m. - Kleberg County and the city of Kingsville are reporting 13 new cases for that county, for a total of 1,560 cases. It also reported that it has suffered 63 deaths as a result of the novel coronavirus.
10:15 a.m. - Jim Wells County is reporting 39 new cases on Wednesday, for a total of 3,042 reported cases in that county. It also has had 70 COVID-19-related deaths.
1/19 updates:
5:30 p.m. - The COVID-19 vaccination distribution that was supposed to take place Wednesday, Jan. 20 at the Bee County EXPO Center is postponed. The Office of Emergency Management was informed the vaccine for the EXPO Center distribution has not been delivered yet. Officials say the distribution will now take place on Friday, January 22.
If you show up and have not registered you will be turned away.
4:45 p.m. - Nueces County is reporting 166 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday afternoon.
4:10 p.m. - The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District received notification of three COVID-19 related deaths Tuesday. The patients were 1 male and 2 females with ages ranging in their 50’s and 60’s. The comorbidities of the patients included hypertension, hyperlipidemia, hypothyroidism and diabetes.
3:42 p.m. - Aransas County reports they now have 666 COVID-19 cases.
2:25 p.m. - Brooks County reports 3 additional COVID-19 cases. Their total is now at 679 cases. So far, there have been 29 deaths, 95 active cases, and 555 have recovered.
2:12 p.m. - Live Oak County now has a total of 953 COVID-19 cases. Out of these cases 287 of them are FCI inmates and the remaining 666 are citizens.
These numbers break down as follows:
- FCI Inmates -287 total. All of these are confirmed cases and have recovered.
- Citizens - 666 total. 32 confirmed cases in active quarantine and 13 probable in quarantine.
- 125 confirmed cases active and recovering and 60 probable and recovering. This makes 157 confirmed cases active and 73 probable cases.
- There are 420 recovered citizens (290 confirmed and 130 probable) 16 deaths.
1/18 updates:
4:55 p.m.- According to Corpus Christi's City Manager Peter Zanoni, the COVID-19 vaccine distribution scheduled for Tuesday at the Richard Borchard Fairgrounds in Robstown has been canceled. Vaccines did not arrive on Monday. The city manager said if vaccines come in on Tuesday, a distribution will be set on Wednesday; Thursday if there is inclement weather.
4:30 p.m. - Nueces County reports 173 new COVID-19 cases. 193 people are currently in the hospital. 54 of those people are in ICU.

4:30 p.m.- Nueces County is reporting three deaths and 164 new cases of COVID-19 Sunday afternoon. The deaths were two men and one woman in their 60’s, 70's and 80's. Their health conditions included diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension. This brings the death toll in the county to 608, and the total case count to 32,850, with 29,077 recovered.
1:45 p.m.- Jim Wells County is reporting 46 cases of COVID-19, bringing the total in the county to 2,996. There are currently 573 reported active cases, 70 deaths, and 2,701 recoveries in the county.

4:00 p.m. - Nueces County Public Health District successfully completed its mega vaccination drive thru clinic today giving out 2,500 inoculations.There will be another mega vaccine drive thru clinic tomorrow, Saturday, January 16 at 8:00 a.m. at the Richard M. 5:02 p.m. - The Nueces County-Corpus Christi Public Health District is reporting that the expected DSHS vaccines have arrived at the Richard Borchard Fairgrounds and are being thawed. The drive-thru vaccination event will begin once that process is complete.
4:40 p.m. - Aransas County is reporting a total of 607 cases, an increase of 38 cases since last Monday. San Patricio is up to 3,248 total cases, an increase of 176 cases since last Monday.
4:38 p.m. - Brooks County reported two new cases on Sunday for a total of 652 reported cases.
4:06 p.m. - Nueces County Public Health District reports one COVID-19 related death Monday. The patient was a male in his 60’s with comorbidities including diabetes and hypertension.
3:55 p.m. - West Oso ISD has announced that they are suspending in-person learning at their high school and switching to online learning until further notice.

Based on recent updates regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the safety and health of our students and staff, West Oso ISD has made the decision to transition West Oso High School to remote learning beginning Tuesday, January 12, 2021 and until further notice. Parents will be notified this afternoon via campus Robo-call and social media about school closure for the West Oso High School campus. A press release will also be provided to local news stations regarding this notification. West Oso ISD’s number one priority is the safety of our students, staff, and families. We are committed to following the guidelines required by the CDC, local and state officials. The West Oso High School campus will be cleaned and sanitized immediately. "We loaned them vaccines," Chief Medical Officer at the Amistad Community Health Center Dr. Jacqueline Phillips said. "I think we're all healthcare partners. We're all trying to get everybody vaccinated as quickly as possible. I think at that time, the Nueces County office and the Nueces County Health District reached out to us for help and, you know, just like any good partner would do, we helped them to the best that we're able to."
