Kiewit reports seven employees diagnosed with COVID-19

Kiewit Offshore Services, based in Ingleside, confirmed to KRIS 6 News on Monday night that seven of its employees have been diagnosed with COVID-19.

Kiewit Corporate Communications manager Teresa Shada released a statement Monday confirming the confirmed cases.

An unnamed employee shared a Kiewit news release Sunday regarding the first positive patient, who was diagnosed June 9.

Since then, six more patients employees who were quarantined after the initial patient's diagnosis, have tested positive

Shada released a statement Monday afternoon saying the affected employees will not be allowed to return to work until they meet the company's requirements.

The statement also said extensive contact tracing and deep-cleaning and sanitation procedures are put into effect after an employee tests positive for the novel coronavirus.

The company's 500-acre Ingleside plant manufactures offshore platforms, and related pieces such as underwater kits and piles, according to its website.

Kiewit Corporation is an employee-owned Fortune 500 contractor based in Omaha, Nebraska.
