WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Internal Revenue Service is warning of a tough tax-filing season, beginning on Jan. 24.
But the agency is still facing a huge backlog amid the pandemic-- in addition to staffing shortages and a lack of funding.
The IRS is urging people to file their returns as early as possible and to file electronically to avoid delays.
The nation's tax filing deadline is April 18.
