CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A new report shows the number of cases of COVID-19 continues to rise among children.
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, more than 70,000 new pediatric cases were reported from Aug. 13-27.
That is an increase of 17 percent over the last two weeks.
In late May, approximately 5 percent of the cases in the country were reported in children.
But that total has since increased to 9.5 percent as of Aug. 27.
More than 476,000 cases have so far been reported in children.
