CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — National Picnic day is celebrated every year on April 23. This year, due to a global pandemic, people can celebrate a little differently.
We challenge you to celebrate "National Picnic Day" from home.
By definition, a picnic is simply a packed meal eaten outdoors. That means even with social distancing orders in place, a picnic is still possible.
We recommend using a picnic basket and picnic blanket for the authentic experience, but feel free to get creative.
Also, a little physical activity can help beef up any picnic. Tossing a frisbee or playing hide and seek are some classic picnic activities that can be enjoyed in a backyard.
We want to see videos and pictures from your "stay-at-home picnic". Post them in the comment section on our Facebook and Twitterposts and use hashtag #homepicnic.
