CCIA Public Safety Officer Lieutenant Bobby Almager has died from COVID-19

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A public safety officer who worked at the Corpus Christi International Airport has died from COVID-19.

According to an airport representative Kim Bridger, Lieutenant Bobby Almager worked for 24 years in the Public Safety Division at Corpus Christi International Airport.

"As a first responder and a key member of the CCIA team, he dedicated his professional life to helping people and keeping things safe and secure at CCIA," said a press release from the airport. "Our condolences go out to his family and friends, who along with us, are mourning his loss today. Lt. Almager was 53 years old."

Almager was committed to public service, as he was a Master Aircraft Rescue Firefighter, E.M.T, Master Peace Officer, and instructor.

The time of death has not yet been released.
