CC Natatorium and Collier pools re-open with restrictions

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Two local pools have re-opend with new hours and some restrictions, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department made the announcement yesterday.

"As per the Governor’s Reopen Texas guidelines announced this week, the Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department will reopen Collier Pool and the Corpus Christi Natatorium for lap swim," said a press release from the city.

WIth the re-opening comes a new set or rules and protocols that are intended to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic locally.

"To comply with new COVID-19 health protocols, a new reservation system will be implemented to manage the number and safety of patrons."

The reservation system requires making a phone call at least 24 hours in advance to 361-232-1989 or by sending an email to aquatics@cctexas.com.

Patrons can reserve up to 3 45-minute session days at either pool, each pool having different hours of operation.SIx lanes will be available per hour ,on the hour.

The new restrictions also include no lane sharing, no locker rooms, and 6 feet of distance between people on the pool deck.
