Brooks Co. Judge Eric Ramos confirmed to KRIS 6 News that a Brooks County employee has been diagnosed with COVID-19.
"Our emergency management team is currently conducting a contact-tracing investigation, as well as arranging testing for all individuals in the appropriate department(s)," he said. "Appropriate personnel have been asked to self-isolate until further notice."
The employee's position will not be released because of HIPAA protections. Ramos did say the employee, while being employed by the county, does not live in Brooks Co.
The county's COVID-19 case count remains at one, and that patient reportedly has recovered, Ramos said.
He also said the affected county facilities are scheduled to be thoroughly disinfected beginning Friday evening.
