PREMONT, Texas — The Premont Independent School District superintendent confirmed that students have been told to quarantine after a staff member tested positive.
According to Premont ISD Superintendent Steve VanMatre, the staff member tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday, Sept. 11 and they immediately made the proper state and local notifications.
VanMatre told us that 51 students, who had minimal contact with the infected staff member, have been told to quarantine for 14 days.
The names of the staff member and students will not be released out of respect for privacy.
Premont ISD held COVID-19 testing for students and staff Monday morning until 10 a.m..
