CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — Don't be alarmed if you see smoke coming from the direction of the Island this weekend.
That will be the fire crews performing a controlled burn on the Padre Island National Seashore.
Burning will take place in all areas of the park and will happen on both sides of Park Road 22.
The burn was initially planned for Saturday, but weather conditions led to them move it up to Friday.
The process will take about four days.
Those with respiratory issues are urged to avoid the area.
