Drivers should expect some delays if your commute takes you by way of Ayers and Crosstown.
Construction crews say all northbound traffic on Ayers at the Crosstown/ South Padre Island Drive intersection is closed.
That means Ayers Street has been reduced to one-lane, one-way traffic from Gollihar Road to McArdle Road.
Drivers should use different routes if possible.
The work is part of an 11 million dollar project to improve sidewalks and drainage in that area.
