In a move to improve district safety and security for students, the Corpus Christi Independent School District will implement a clear-bag requirement for all athletic events at Cabaniss Sports Complex and Buccaneer Stadium, starting with the upcoming season staring next month.

This district aims for the new guideline to create a safer environment for everyone.

Any visitor, spectator or patron attending an event held at these venues will be required to follow this procedure for high school and middle school events.

Clear tote bags may be plastic, vinyl or PVC. They may not exceed 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 inches.

A small clutch bag no larger than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches─ approximately the size of a hand─ (with or without a handle or strap) is approved. Other bags such as backpacks, diaper bags and camera bags, etc. will not be allowed in the stadium.

Two local companies will be the official supplier of these tote bags for the district, H-E-B Stores and Mira’s Sports and More

H-E-B will begin selling these clear bags during their Back to School package. Mira’s Sports and More will offer the bags at their retail store.
