CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Conventions are big business for most cities, but Corpus Christi has had a hard time bringing them to town.
So what can be done about it?
The American Bank Center was supposed to help bring convention business here. But tourism officials believe it’s now too small to attract big conventions.
Today, the ABC hosts a "capacity summit,"a discussion on how to bring more conventions here.
Officials say some conventions pass on Corpus Christi, because there isn't enough space or amenities.
So expanding the American Bank Center is one solution, but are there others?
We’ll share what we learn coming up this evening on KRIS 6 News. kr.ovd.mos
The summit starts at 2 p.m. and is open to everyone.
