A local group working with veterans who were exposed to toxins during their service overseas got a big gift today.
The law firm of Hermann and Hermann presented Burn Pits 360 with a check for $15,000.
The group says it will use the money for its lobbying efforts and to fund more services at their Warrior Support Center.
“Just a lot of services we offer here for veterans and first responders,” said Rosie Torres, executive director of Burn Pits 360. “And that check and those funds are going to go to both … all the efforts that we offer, all the services and programs that we offer on behalf of Burn Pits 360.”
Governor Greg Abbott recently signed legislation that will create a state wide “Burn Pit Registry.”
