Blistering weather across the nation is having an effect on millions across the country.

The Bryant (Ark.) Police Department is asking for help from criminals to "nip it" as Deputy Barney Fife used to say on "The Andy Griffith Show" because of the extreme heat.

On a Facebook post earlier today, the Bryant police is "asking all criminal activity to hold off" until cooler weather moves in on Monday.

"Folks, it is hot as fire out here today," the post read.

It also suggests that Bryant police should literally "take a chill pill."

"Just stay home on the A/C or wherever you are, and binge watch some Netflix series," the post read. "If you don't get Netflix, go to a friends house that does. Eat ice cream, make snow cones we don't care, but for the love of everything, stay inside.

"We can resume normal activity on Monday. See you then."

So what do you think? Will crime take a hot-weather holiday in Bryant, or really anywhere else?
