Trust the process.
That’s the word from Corpus Christi Mayor Joe McComb to questions from 6 Investigates concerning how well informed council members were before naming the six candidates chosen as finalists for the City Manager position.
McComb’s comments follow a KRIS 6 reportshowing several candidates left their previous jobs under questionable circumstances, raising concerns that the council may not have received all of the information needed to make an informed decision.
The city hired Atlanta-based Slavin Management Consultants to do the search. McComb says Slavin will earn $25,000 for the work.
As for the ongoing, multi-step vetting process, McComb tells 6 Investigates the consultant will provide appropriate information concerning each candidate as it is needed.
“This should all surface,” McComb said. “That’s the way the system is designed during the due diligence process, (and) I have no problem with that.”
