Sea City Work Camp hammering away at local building projects

Posted

Sea City Work Camp is not your usual summer camp as it involves paint and roof shingles.

This week, nearly 80 teenagers are giving their time to help fix up homes in the area.

Teens spend a full week giving back to those in need while learning new skills.

Repairs are being made this year at seven different locations, providing those in need with high-quality repairs.

“We don’t leave anything undone so they know that before we leave, it is done to code. so they are thrilled,” Kathy Rios, Sea City Work Camp public relations director, said. “A lot of them are elderly folks on fixed incomes that have been waiting for someone to come and fix their home.”

At the end of each workday, the teens stay at a host church and enjoy fun and fellowship.
