Veteran King baseball coach Gabe Perez has been moved from his current coaching position at the school.
No reason was given for the shifting of Perez’s job requirements.
During a 12-season tenure with the Mustangs, Perez won more than 250 games. King finished the 2019 season with a 25-11-1 record and notched a second-place finish in District 30-5A.
The Mustangs advanced to the area round of the playoffs this season before losing to Region IV-finalist Mission Sharyland.
King High School Athletic Coordinator Eddie Hesseltine confirmed Perez will make the move.
We’ll have more on this personnel move at 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. tonight on KRIS 6 Sports.
