A barge and sunken tugboat that were left behind in Corpus Christi Bay three weeks ago are supposed to be removed today.

The barge had been donated to a local charity for a fireworks display that was canceled.

The General Land Office sent a spill crew to the scene along Ocean Drive yesterday to remove gas and batteries from the sunken boat.

The man who left the barge says he’s been unable to move it because of high winds.

He told the GLO he would be there today to remove both vessels.

The U.S. Coast Guard is conducting an investigation.
