One local woman is honoring our veterans with some thread and a sewing machine.
In the past year, Sinton resident Leah Spencer has sewed 20 quilts. And this weekend, she’s giving those handmade treasures to local veterans.
Leah is homebound because of some health issues, but she puts her time to good use.
She joined a national group called Quilts of Valor. It’s a group that makes quilts to honor those who have served our country.
And these quilts are one-of-a-kind, stitched out of special material. Each one has the veterans’ name on it.
Today, we’ll talk to her about her passion for sewing these quilts.
