Seniors at Ray High School were honored today.
It’s called the “rolling of the drums.”
It’s how the school acknowledges seniors and their accomplishments before graduation.
Students and staff also took the opportunity to congratulate Roxanne Cuevas who was officially named Ray’s new principal.
“We are here for the kids. no matter what they need,” Cuevas said. “We are here for them at all times. Our safety is the utmost importance for our students, our education is the utmost importance for our students, and we are here for whatever they may need.”
Cuevas has served at Ray for 11 years.
She took over in October as interim principal after Cissy Perez left to become assistant superintendent for curriculum, instruction and human resources at West Oso.
