The Jim Wells County Sheriff’s Office says a traffic stop lead to the discovery of more than $150,000 inside of a diaper box.
Investigators say the money was found on U.S. Highway 281 just north of Ben Bolt.
Investigators say after speaking with the occupants inside of a vehicle, they believed the driver and the passenger were involved in some sort of criminal activity.
While searching the vehicle, investigators located 7 bundles wrapped in foil and plastic inside of a box.
Three additional bundles of cash were wrapped with rubber bands inside a backpack.
The driver, Isaias Gonzalez and passenger Brianda Guajardo Perez were both arrested and charged with Money Laundering.
The total amount of currency located is $155,901.00.
