Bees are also keeping control crews busy this week.

According to Vector Control, there have been several bee attacks in our area over the past few days.

Monday morning, a man was attacked by bees behind the Moravian Hall on Kostoryz Road.

Medics say the man was operating a riding lawnmower and he was stung more than 30 times.

It is mating season for bees which means they are out and about and could be building nests on your property.

Vector Control employees said people should regularly check for these hives.

“Check around your property because the bees like to make homes in trees, inside your walls, cable pedestals, water meters,” Animal Vector Control control officer Tony Pantoja said. “Anything that’s protected they’ll make a home in it. They like to make a home in brushes also, bushes, anything like that.”

Pantoja says to check around your property especially before doing yard work to prevent being attacked.
