Predicted rain playing havoc on baseball, softball playoff schedules

Expected rainy conditions have resulted in changes with tonight’s schedule of baseball and softball playoffs.

The Veterans/Sharyland Pioneer baseball game scheduled for tonight at Cabaniss will now start at 5:00 p.m. Games 2 and 3 (if necessary) are still scheduled to be played at Sharyland Pioneer High School. If a site shift is needed, it will be determined Saturday morning.

As scheduled now, if Game 3 is needed, it will be played on Saturday at Sharyland Pioneer 30 minutes after the conclusion of Game 2.  Ticket prices will be $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students. District 30-5A and District 31 5A- passes will be accepted.  Faculty will be allowed in free with an ID, but spousea will pay.  THSCA, THSBCA, TGCA and THSADA passes will also be accepted.  Gates will open 1 hour prior to game time.

This schedule could change if more rain is received. The Corpus Christi Independent School District has fields on standby so site and times if the games are moved from Sharyland Pioneer will be announced later.

King will play Sharyland in a best-of-3 series. Game 1 will be at Cabaniss on Friday, 30 minutes after the conclusion of the earlier 5:00 pm game.  Games 2 and 3 (if necessary) will be played at a site (TBA) and time (TBA) on Saturday.

Also, the Carroll-Flour Bluff softball game has been moved to 3 p.m. today the Gregory-Portland City Fields.
