Trooper Moises Sanchez, who was wounded during a routine traffic stop near Edinburg on April 6, turns 49 today.

We want to be among the first to wish him a special day as he recovers.
And remember that local troopers have organized a chicken and sausage barbecue benefit to raise money for Sanchez and his family.
The benefit will begin at 11 a.m. at the DPS office parking lot, 1922 South Padre Island Drive.
A silent auction will be held throughout the day with winners announced at 4:30 p.m.
