If you are too busy to visit your favorite barber shop, or just don’t feel like driving to it, let the barber shop come to you.
The Plug is the first mobile barbershop of its kind in South Texas, and it’s on the cutting-edge of what is a hot new trend.
Nowadays, it is all about convenience. We get groceries delivered right to our door, we get our pets groomed at our home and now we can get a curbside haircut.
That question has been answered by The Plug mobile barbershop, the first, and so far, the only, mobile barbershop on wheels in South Texas.
“It is pretty unique for the reason that now you don’t have to go wait in line or leave your house and go to the barber. All you have to do is call us, and we will come to you,” said The Plug Representative Jesse Hernandez.
It took some time and determined effort to acquire and overhaul their $60,000 Winnebago motor home.
“You will be in air condition; you can watch TV, play X-Box while you are getting a haircut, and we are here on standby, and we will come to you as soon as you call,” said Hernandez.
The barbershop on wheels will go anywhere people need a cut or trim: your home, events around town or even outside your office.
“This is mainly tailored for just about anybody. If you are a doctor or lawyer, you can just walk out and go into the RV, get your haircut and walk back into your office. We will make sure you go in there spick-and-span,” said Hernandez.
The Plug mobile barbershop will be looking to start a campaign to make a big difference in our community. They want to take their barbershop on the road and help people in need.
“We were born and raised in Corpus Christi so we are going to give back to our community and our city. Pick like a junior high school or elementary school and get all the straight A students or the first twenty to thirty students and give them free haircuts, and we were thinking about going to the VFW too and maybe give our veterans a thank you and a free haircut,” said Hernandez.
