The Flour Bluff School District has named a new superintendent.
He’s Dr. David Freeman, the current London ISD superintendent.
Freeman was selected during a special meeting Sunday of the Flour Bluff ISD school board.
Freeman has served as London’s superintendent since 2014.
The district says Freeman was one of three finalists out of a pool 46 applicants in what was a months-long, nationwide search.
FBISD board president Shirley Thornton says Freeman’s familiarity with the community combines with his experience to make him the best candidate.
“I’m confident Dr. Freeman is the perfect fit as our next Superintendent of Schools,” she said.
is also the board president for the Boys and Girls Club of the Coastal Bend.
Freeman and the district now enter a state-mandated 21-day waiting period before his contract becomes final.
Freeman will officially take over as Flour Bluff superintendent on May 30.
