Grant Gillespie loves two things most of all: football and the New England Patriots.

Grant is 5 years old and was born with a spinal cord defect called Spina Bifida. According to his mom Kayln Gillespie, Grant plays flag football for a local Pee Wee football team, despite his inability to walk. Here is a video of him scoring a touchdown!

Grant has adopted the same motto that the Patriots use, “Bet against us and we will prove you wrong.” He wants to someday play for the New England Patriots, so he can meet the likes of Tom Brady, Julian Edelman, and Rob Gronkowski.

Fortunately for him, his dreams might come true quicker than he imagined. His parents reached out to the Patriots Foundation and they received an amazing reply.

“Thank you for reaching out to us and sharing Grant’s story. He sounds like an amazing young man. We were wondering if you think Grant would enjoy being our special guest at Training Camp this summer.” the email from the Patriots said, We have a tented area where he could sit and see his favorite team practice right in front of him. It is a bit early for any specifics but I would be happy to let you know when more information becomes available. Please let me know if you think this might be something Grant would enjoy.”

Grant’s family hopes to take him up there this summer.
