A viral video surfaced social media and stunned a massive audience at the 2019 Buc Days Rodeo.

It was images of professional bullfighter Weston Rutkowski performing a freestyle bullfighting routine.

However, things did not go quite as planned.

“When you put a mean bull in a pen, you never know what’s going to happen,” says Rutkowski.

Weston says the crew was getting close to the end of the show and Rutkowski wanted to complete one last fake.

But the fighting bull was not done.

“Bull just didn’t take it, he slowed up enough got smart on me and then he just caught me unfortunate for me, that bull came alive and started bumping me,” says Rutkowski.

President and CEO of the Buccaneer Commission Johnny Philipello says these bulls are bred to fight, so things like this happen.

However, Weston is a three-time bullfighting champion who is doing what he loves.

“The bull is bred to fight and it’s what they love to do, and in this case, the bull won,” says Philipello.

Many folks on social media were concerned about Rutkowski’s well being, he says he is fine, just a little sore but he will be right back in the bullpen for the Buc Days Rodeo.

“That bull is fine that bull is doing what he’s bred to do you know a lot of people saying oh that bull is terrible this and that, but you know that’s what that bull loves to do I know my job I know what I am here for I am the one who stepped in the pin, nobody pushed me in there,” says Rutkowski.
