It’s been almost two years since Hurricane Harvey hit.

But it Rockport, the recovery continues.

Thanks to one particular grant, progress is being made.

The city of Rockport was one of two Texas cities to receive the “Texas Target Communities” grant.

TTC is a Texas A&M University-wide community engagement initiative.

The program’s goal is to send professors and students into a selected community for a year to help in ways to help revive the community.

We’re talking to some of those students and a professor who has been working with Rockport for the last year. And also city officials about the TTC grant.

We’ll have more on this later today on KRIS 6 News.
