A woman in Cairo, N.Y., totaled her car when she saw a spider, Cairo police said.
Buzz Feed News reports that after noticing a menacing looking spider in her front seat, the unidentified woman “panicked and crashed,” according to police.
She received a leg injury in addition to her vehicle damages, police said.
Cairo Police posted photos of the crash to their Facebook page, as well as a warning to drivers who might be freaked out by spiders.
“We know that it is easier for some drivers than others,” police said. “But PLEASE, try to teach new drivers and yourselves to overcome the fear and pull over to a safe place.”
“Lives depend on it,” the post said.
The report prompted hundreds of comments from readers who emathized with the woman.
