It happened around midnight on the 13-hundred block of Sabinas Street near Baldwin.
A couple was inside asleep when the fire started and had to be awoken by a neighbor who saw the flames and rushed over.
They managed to make it out of the house — two dogs, however, did not.
It took fire fighters to get the fire put out.
An investigation into the cause of the fire now begins.
Meanwhile, the Red Cross has stepped in to help.
