Chelsea Torres has got her grub on again this week as she checks out some of the best-baked goods in the area in our Coastal Bend Gems segment.
Her choice this week was to sample two of the best bakeries in the area. And she picked a couple of good ones with J.B.’s German Bakery at 15137 South Padre Island Drive on the Island and the new Bien Merite French Bakery at 1316 S. Staples.
AtJ.B.’s German Bakery, Chelsea introduces us to Juergen and Brigitte Kazenmayer, who has delivered some of the tastiest German-American meals since opening in 2011. You’ll also why Brigitte says her schnitzel is so good, she can eat it cold.
Bien Mérité Chocolate and Bakery, has brought a bakery inspired by the warm, quaint atmosphere of a countryside French cafe to Corpus Christi.
It had a soft opening last month and already is packing in a slew of hungry eaters who are lured by their delectable croissants, pastries, French-inspired breads, hand-crafted artisan chocolates, coffee and Matcha teas.
