Folks sported their most colorful socks to take part in a walk this afternoon at Cole Park mean to benefit a good cause.
Hundreds of people turned out for the Funky Sock & Walk. The event was put on by the Castillo family of Corpus Christi to help advocate support for children with Down syndrome.
“The reason we are doing the walk, as great as Corpus Christi is, we did not have a Down Syndrome Awareness Walk,” Juan Castillo said. “So we decided four years ago that we were going to go and create one ourselves.”
This is the fourth year for this walk.
