Several Corpus Christi police officers were promoted today through a department ceremony.
Nine officers were recognized for their hard work and dedication to the force.
Two captains were promoted to deputy chief, one lieutenant was promoted to captain and six senior officers received the rank of lieutenant.
The officers studied hard and took a rigorous test to earn their promotions.
“Once you take the test, depending on the rank that you’re applying for, so for senior officer applying for lieutenant, you have to be the top 15 to go on from that part after the test,” Corpus Christi Police Department Lt. Michael Pena said.
