Baseball season has started across the Coastal Bend.
If the high schoolers are looking for some early inspiration, they might watch this video of a weekend youth tournament filmed by Lauren Smith.
The Gold Glove Academy 11 and under team flashed some serious leather during a weekend tournament here in Corpus Christi.
With runners on first and second, the batter squared around to bunt, but popped out to the first baseman who made a diving catch for the first out. He then fired the ball to the second baseman for the second and then back with the relay to first for the inning-ending out.
For those of you scoring at home, the play’s notation would be P343.
Gold Glove Academy, coached by former Moody High School standout Aaron Gonzalez, went on to win the game and the tournament.
