Hurricane Harvey pretty much destroyed Oso Pier, but that landmark is making a comeback.
It was first built in 1947, with another rebuild now underway.
A brand new 300-foot section of the pier is already in use.
The group rebuilding the pier is holding a fundraiser this weekend to raise enough money to add another 300 hundred feet.
“The goal is to finish it at the original length,” said Mario Martinez of the Oso Pier Rebuilding Project. “The ‘T’ and everything and make it better than it was before.”
This weekend’s fundraiser will be on Saturday and Sunday, kicking off at noon each day.
Festivities will feature door prizes, food, drink and lots of music.
