Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler has created his second Janie’s House to help serve the community in the area of Memphis, Tenn.

Tyler and several leaders snipped through his signature scarves to open the home for abused and neglected girls on Monday.

Organizers say the 82-acre Youth Village campus will serve as a home for dozens of girls each year who have faced abuse and neglect.

Tyler donated $500,000 to renovate the home at Youth Villages. It’s called Janie’s House after Aerosmith’s 1989 hit song “Janie’s Got A Gun.” The song is about a girl who was abused by her family.

“You guys are doing this for so many people,” Tyler said at the opening ceremony.

This is the second Janie’s House to open in the nation.  The first opened in Atlanta in 2017.
