The excitement is building as Ray and Miller prepare for their big rematch Friday night at Miller.

A standing room only crowd is expected for the most anticipated game of the year. Ray comes into the game with the District 30-5A lead at 12-0. Miller is a half-game back at 12-1.

The game will be broadcast live on our sister station KDF-TV starting at 7:30 p.m. It will also be streamed live on www.kristv.com.

These two teams first met on Jan. 2 at Ray with the Texans claiming a 61-48 triumph.

Friday’s game will resemble a chess match as both teams make adjustments and change things around.

It will be very interesting because both teams know each other so well.

Miller coach Maurice Bastian vows to change things around after the Buc’s earlier loss.

“Well, I like to be unpredictable, meaning changing up the defenses, changing our sets,” Bastian said. “Sometimes going fast, sometimes slowing the pace.

“Sometimes it depends on what the score is and the situation. But most importantly, who has the momentum at that particular time. So, we are going to try to mix it up and try to confuse them somewhat.”

Playing strongly on both offense and defense will be critical for the Texans, according to Coach Brandon Bourg.

“We put a big part of our game plan is always pushing the ball on offense,” Bourg said. “But a big part is also getting back and getting defensive stops.

“We did a pretty good job on the glass the first time around especially in the second half, so keeping them off the glass and getting back on transition defense will be keys for us. It’s going to be exciting, there’s going to be a lot of people (there). Obviously, you guys broadcasting the game adds to it.”

It’s going to be a lot of fun to watch starting at 7:30 tomorrow night.
