Thanks to some thieves, three Habitat for Humanity homes currently being worked on for area families may not be finished on time.
The thieves stole a utility trailer and equipment needed for those projects.
The theft happened Tuesday at the Habitat Restore on Lipan.
Surveillance video shows a white or light-colored SUV pull into a fenced-off area.
The crooks then broke a lock on one of the trailers, stealing equipment used for the building projects.
They also took a trailer Habitat for Humanity recently purchased last November.
The total loss is about $15,000 worth of equipment and services.
But the loss for the families who were working on their homes is even greater.
The theft will delay work on current and upcoming habitat projects.
